  Today is the birth-day celebration of Revered Swami Vijnananandaji Maharaj.

  Reminiscences of Revered Vijnananandaji Maharaj 
  Revered Swami  Vijnananandaa Maharaj  is staying at the ‘Math. 
‘Every day the priest starts the worship after offering pranam to him. 
Maharaj asks him, what is next?  The priest describes.
On the day of Vijaya Dasami, Maharaj asked, ‘What is there tomorrow?’ 
  The priest replied, ‘After a brief worship with ten articles in the morning, there will be Darpan-Visarjan (immersion in the mirror). And in the evening there will be Pratima-visarjan, immersion of the image.’ 
  Maharaj asked again, ‘Where will you immerse the Mother?’ 
  The priest replied, ‘Why, in the Ganges?’ 
  Maharaj asked, In the ‘Ganges?’ 
  The priest replied, ‘yes Maharaj, as is the practice every year.’ 
  Swami Vijnananandaji Maharaj said solemnly, ‘Mother is to be immersed in the heart only’.

Swami Subodhananda Jeyanthi

“Once on my way I [Subodhanandaji] slept under a banyan tree at night. After a while I had a dream. I saw an old woman telling me: ‘You get up… Go forward a little, and you will find a police station. You can spend the night there.’ ‘Will they allow me to stay?’ I asked her. She said: ‘Yes, they will allow you to sleep there…’ I awoke and according to the instructions of the old woman, I got shelter in the veranda of the police station. The next morning I went to check the ground under the banyan tree and found many holes. The local people told me that the place was infested with cobras.” Someone asked the swami, “Who was that woman?” After a brief silence, the swami replied, “It was the Divine Mother.” (Swami Subodhananda, Life – Teachings – Reminiscences – Letters)
