The Ramakrishna Mission (Ceylon Branch) is an APPROVED CHARITY vide Extra Ordinary Issue No. 10358 of the Ceylon Government Gazette published on the 22nd of February, 1952. The mission started functioning in the island in 1924 with the management of a few schools. The centre in Colombo was formally established in 1930. Currently the Mission operates with its two branches having the head office in Colombo and a sub-centre in Batticaloa. The Mission conducts extensive work in healthcare, disaster relief, rural management, tribal welfare, elementary and higher education and culture. |
