In Commemoration of Swami Vivekananda Visit to Sri Lanka in 1897 Centenary Celebration Fund to Support Poor Students.

Giving children the gift of an Education

The establishment of the Ramakrishna Mission by Swami Vivekananda opened a new horizon not only in the age-old spiritual thoughts of our country but also brought about a new movement in the field of cultural and socio-economic development. The activities of the Mission, however, is not of a social welfare organization, but a orgainsation of basically a spiritual outlook with social commitments and universal appeal.

Ramakrishna Mission, Colombo Centre, started a scheme in 1997 to support poor students in Sri Lanka. Last year it  spent Rs.1.248 Million (USD 11,350) for educational purposes. The ever increasing demand from students due to the present situation in Sri Lanka made us to appeal to all who want to participate in our effort to provide education to the Poor.

Their basic needs:
  • Food, love, a caring environment, health care, and education
  • Care about their Current well being and Future success.
  • Financial assistance to start, continue, or complete their studies.
  • A Guest House – International Cultural Centre
  • An Auditorium - for religious and cultural programmes at nominal rates
  • Welfare & Relief Work

Thanking You,

Yours in the Lord,
Swami Sarvarupananda
Vice-President
