The Ramakrishna Mission (Ceylon Branch) is an APPROVED CHARITY, started functioning in the island in 1924 with the management of a few schools.

The centre in Colombo was formally established in 1930. Currently the Mission operates with its two branches having the head office in Colombo and a sub-centre in Batticaloa. The Mission conducts extensive work in healthcare, disaster relief, rural management, tribal welfare, elementary and higher education and culture.
